My Steyrs are the most accurate centerfire hunting rifles I have ever owned. It loves flat base bullets, and nothing else. It is beautiful like poem, but very finicky. The barrels on the Steyrs are second to none on a factory rifle. My Steyrs are very deadly rifles regardless of the temp or the weather. I love Sakos ,but I am not sure I like them that much. I went to two big Cabalas stores this month. I can get him to order in whatever I want. I have a major gun dealer within twenty miles of me, and he has no Sakos.I think he has some Tikkas. Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a one-piece checkered walnut with monte-carlo comb, schnabel forend tip, capped pistol grip, checkered black hard rubber “BISHOP” buttplate and sling swivels front and rear. The scope has some scattered light marks and wear from the adjustment ring, in about Good-Very Good overall condition. The installed scope has a fine crosshair reticle and is adjusted with knobs on the rear ring. The chamber ring is grooved for a scope mount (none present). The rear ring is marked to a male dovetail installed on the rear of the receiver. There is a male dovetail mount at the rear of the barrel which has the front ring for the scope. The base is grooved for a hood which is not present.
Sights / Optics: There is a serrated ramped base fixed to the front of the barrel with a blank installed in its dovetail. The rear of the trigger guard is hand-scribed “J T C”. The bottom of the bolt handle is marked “5070”. The top of the chamber ring is marked “SAKO / L46” in circle. The right of the receiver is marked “MADE IN FINLAND”. The left of the receiver is marked “SAKO Riihimaki N:o 5070”. The right of the barrel is marked “MADE IN U.S.A.
